Actor Profile: Carrie Anne Moss

Happy Birthday to Carrie Anne Moss! She turns 49 today. Wow. Did you know she was in a TV series called Matrix before she was in The Matrix? She’s on the lower end of roles I’ve seen, but above my minimum of 10. This should be fun.

BEST PERFORMANCE:
Definitely Memento, which I honestly consider her true breakthrough performance. The Matrix was good, but I think Memento was the film that showed Hollywood casting directors what she was truly capable of, and combined with her rising star power from The Matrix has kept her getting cast through today.

MOST ICONIC PERFORMANCE:
Obviously she’s known for playing Trinity in The Matrix franchise more than anything else on her resume.

MOST UNDERRATED PERFORMANCE:
I think she’s fantastic in Jessica Jones. That whole show deserved a ton of Emmy love it didn’t get. The Emmy’s have to get over their contempt of genre shows because there is so much amazing acting on them.

BEST PERFORMANCE I’VE HEARD WAS GOOD AND HAVEN’T SEEN:
I’m not sure if her performance was good or not, but I’ve heard good things about Snow Cake, and I never saw it.

WORST PERFORMANCE/FILM:
I thought Red Planet was incredibly dull. I don’t remember her being in it, but I think I’ve mentally blocked that film over the last 16 years. I honestly only remember Val Kilmer, and I know he wasn’t alone in that mess.

Films I’ve Seen:
1) The Matrix (1999)
2) The Crew (2000)
3) Memento (2000)
4) Red Planet (2000)
5) Chocolat (2000)
6) The Animatrix (2003)
7) Matrix: Reloaded (2003)
8) Matrix: Revolutions (2003)
9) The Chumscrubber (2005)
10) Mini’s First Time (2006)
11) Disturbia (2007)
12) Pompeii (2014)
13) Jessica Jones (2015)
14) Daredevil (2016)
