She has several notable films to her name. In the ’80s, she featured in Tender Mercies, Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension, Eddie and the Cruisers, Johnny Handsome, The Big Easy and Sea of Love.

    The 90’s started with a bang as she was nominated for the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Motion Picture for her role in ‘Switch’. After that, she starred in This Boy’s Life, Man Trouble, Bad Company, Into the West, The Fan, Wild Bill, Drop Dead Gorgeous and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.
    At the start of the millennium, Barkin starred in Crime and Punishment in Suburbia. Then, she starred in movies like Trust The Man, Palindromes, Brooklyn’s Finest, Ocean’s Thirteen and The Cobbler.

    During her career, Barkin has won many awards. After her nomination, Barkin went on to win the Primetime Emmy Award in 1998 for her role in Before Women Had Wings. She also debuted on Broadway in 2011 with The Normal Heart. Likewise, Barkin won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play for this performance.

    Barkin also tried her hand at TV and played Janine ‘Smurf’ Cody on TNT’s Animal Kingdom. She was also featured in the sitcom The New Normal as Jane Forrest. The show ran from 2016 to 2019.

    Barkin is also credited with producing movies like Shit Year, Letters to Juliet and Another Happy Day.

    Her net worth can be attributed to the sale of ‘Magnificent Jewels from Ellen Barkin’s Collection, which fetched her $20,369,200. She also filed a lawsuit against Perelman for $3.4 million in investment amount that Perelman had pledged to invest in their film production company. She won the case as Perelman was fined $4.3 million and compensated her for her loss.

    Born on 16th April 1954, Ellen Rona Barkin is from New York. She was first married to Gabriel Byrne, with whom she has two children. Her brother, George Barkin, has been the editor-in-chief of National Lampoon and High Times.
