Abstract
The chapter starts with the introduction of global agriculture landscape and farm size economy across the world. Next, it introduces agricultural economics and influence of macrolevel economic indicators on the local agriculture. Next, study of econometrics-related agricultural models is introduced. Finally, it concludes with the challenges that agriculture faces, especially for small-scale farmers and the role of machine learning in addressing such challenges, as well as the opportunities machine learning provides to improve the future of small-scale farming.
