BrightLogic's HAYABUSA

SUZUKI_Hayabusa_01.jpg

The third-generation Hayabusa, which was introduced in 2021, has a color order plan that allows customers to change the color combination of the stock main color, trim parts, and wheels, with a total of 21 patterns available when ordering (18 patterns for the '22 model year). And here we have this bike that looks like the '22 stock color Glass Sparkle Black x Matte Black Metallic, but upon closer inspection it looks a little different. That's right! This color scheme isn't one of the color order combinations, it's completely black. The owner put in an order for an "all black" custom and Bright Logic did exactly that. If you compare it to the stock black version, the difference becomes apparent. The exterior has a different sheen than the stock color, and the Hayabusa and SUZUKI logos are the same shape, but in a different tone of black.

If all that was necessary was to just make it black, they might have considered just quickly painting the exterior, but that would not match the color of the originally black parts and would not be in line with the customer's order. Therefore, after consulting with a paint shop, they created a black color for the exterior, and since adhesive logos might peel off later, they painted those as well and finished it off with a clear finish. As you can imagine, it was a lot of work. If you look closely, you can see that many more parts are black. The swingarm pivot, front and rear axle shafts, nuts, steps, pillion step brackets, and their mounting bolts are also black. Even the links and the gold rings on the gauges are black. This is the reason the design has such uniformity. The steps and bolts are plated, and the silencer cover is molded and anodized to match the silencer that was brought in. As with the logos, they didn't want any of the color coming off later, so naturally, the entire body was disassembled before painting, and not only that, each and every part was also disassembled before coloring and then the entire bike was reassembled. Throughout this process, the bike was also lubricated and checked thoroughly, following Bright Logic's moto of "If you're going to do it, do it right". This is how the Black Beauty Hayabusa was born.

Electrical

The image shows the hazard lamps and headlights turned on. The exterior black color was created specially for this bike, and the SUZUKI logo above the headlights is also painted.

The outer rings of the engine tachometer and analog display speedometer have been changed from the stock gold treatment to black in order to achieve total color uniformity around the gauges. The stem nuts and upper and lower fork brackets are also black. The function indicator letters on the fork tops and switches were left as stock.

Bodyworks

The SUZUKI logo on the fuel tank (which is gray on the black stock model) is not a sticker, but rather painted and then clear-finished. It is the same font and size as the stock logo, painted in a black with a slightly different tone from the body color. The Hayabusa logo on both sides of the cowl was finished in the same way.

The single seat cowl is a black stock accessory repainted in black to match the body. The Hayabusa logos on the left and right sides of the tail cowl are also black.

The tail cowl area is also painted black. Here you can clearly see the black Hayabusa and SUZUKI logos in contrast to the gloss black finish.

Bright Logic consulted thoroughly with a paint shop to create the black color used for the body, which is a different shade of black than the stock Glass Sparkle Black. The separate trim parts behind the Hayabusa logo are also painted in the same color. The original black molded resin parts are used as is.

Intake & Exhaust

The exhaust system is equipped with a US YOSHIMURA silencer brought in by the owner. The silencer cover is made from a stock aluminum plate, molded with lines to match the silencer, and then anodized black. The swingarm and brake components are stock parts, but are also black.

Chassis

SUZUKI_Hayabusa_07.jpg

The stock swingarm pivot shaft/nut and step mounting bolts are made of silver-plated steel, but for this custom they are treated with black plating in order to acheive total blackness. Non-disassembled parts such as the rear shock body are left as stock.

The front forks, as well as the outer tubes and bottom pieces, which are also black and grayish when stock, have been recolored to match the black tones of the body color. The same goes for the axle shafts, axle nuts, front fender, and cowl bolts, all of which are silver in the stock color.

The rear sprocket, chain adjuster/bolt, rear axle shaft and nut, step, step base, and step bolts are all plated or anodized to match the body black. Of course, the drive chain was also changed to RK black.
