Gillian Anderson

Gillian Anderson is an award-winning film, television, and theatre actress who rose to international fame playing FBI Special Agent Dana Scully in the long-running series The X-Files. She is well-known as DSU Stella Gibson in the BBC crime series The Fall, Bedelia DuMaurier in the Hannibal series, and sex therapist Jean Milburn in the Netflix comedy series, Sex Education and more recently as her Emmy-winning performance as Margaret Thatcher in the Crown. Film roles include the ill-fated Lily Bart in The House of Mirth, Lady Edwina Mountbatten in Viceroy's House and major roles in Playing by Heart, The Last King of Scotland, and The Spy Who Dumped Me. Recent theatre roles include Blanche DuBois in the Young Vic's critically-acclaimed A Streetcar Named Desire and Margo Channing in the 2019 production of All About Eve in London's West End. 

Among other honours, she has won a Primetime Emmy Award, a Golden Globe Award, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, and an Evening Standard Theatre Award. In 2016 Anderson was appointed an honorary OBE (Order of the British Empire) for her services to drama. She has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

She is the author of We: The Uplifting Manual for Women Seeking Happiness, published by HarperCollins in 2017. An anthology of women's sexual fantasies collected by Gillian — Want — will be published by Bloomsbury in September this year.
