In the summer of 2020, Maslina Resort in Croatia opened its doors for you. It is located directly on the coast of the Croatian island of Hvar in the Adriatic Sea. We are happy to present to you the sustainable hotel and the exciting history of its location here.
An island with an exciting history
Its privileged location in the Adriatic Sea has led to changing affiliations to different political areas and states. For several thousand years Hvar belonged to the Republic of Venice and was considered an important commercial center until the 16th century. With the dissolution of the Republic of Venice in 1797, the island was under the rule of the Habsburgs. Due to various wars in the following period, the island changed its state affiliation several times. Until 1991 Hvar belonged to Yugoslavia, since then it is part of Croatia.
Explore the island
The island measures a little less than 300km2, but due to its eventful history, it has some sights to offer for you, such as the fortress of the town of Hvar with the old town wall. In the old town, there is also the nightlife of the island for you to enjoy. You can reach some pubs, bars, and clubs in a 20 minutes drive from Maslina Resort. The island also invites you to do water sports like diving or surfing. Hvar is also known as a unique sailing area in the whole world.
Get in contact with locals
The warm climate of the island ensures mild winters and pleasant temperatures in summer. This allows lavender, olives, and wine to thrive. By the way, the olives have given the Maslina Resort its name, because Maslina means “olive” in Croatian. Explore the island by walking or cycling, you will get authentic insights into the unique nature and the local life. Cozy taverns around the island serve local products and delicacies. Very quickly you will also find the opportunity to get into a conversation with the local people here or at the numerous events.
The Maslina Resort
The 5-star resort is located on the bay of Maslinica with private access to the sea. Here the Mediterranean region shows its most beautiful side. With its low buildings, a lot of natural materials, and wooden facades, the resort fits perfectly into its surroundings. To protect the native olive trees, the property has been carefully reforested. How important environmental protection and the preservation of trees and plants is, is also shown in the own garden. The excellent hotel kitchen obtains fruit and vegetables almost exclusively from the hotel’s own cultivation.
The Masina Resort stands for “Mindful Luxury” and focuses on comfort in harmony with nature. The spa offer is also designed for sustainability and a conscious approach to nature. How about the “Garden-to-Skin” offer? The oils and herbs come from the hotel garden directly onto your skin.
The Maslina Resort is suitable for families. There is a varied care program for children and there are two large Family Suites.
