Kayexalate

Kayexalate is a drug used to lower serum potassium.

Kayexalate arrives with a scooper, generally marked for 15 g.

If your scooper is missing, 30g of Kayexalate = 40 ml of powder (measure 40 ml using a new, clean urine cup)

Reconstitute Kayexalate by mixing 3ml of water with every gram of Kayexalate.

The usual 30 g dose is to be mixed with 90 ml of water.

Recheck potassium (K) levels 2 hours after administering the drug.
