Pensiunea Miraj

Because of the choice to accommodate at the Pension Miraj and because of the location, the Leordina comune being placed at halfway between Sighetul Marmatie and Borsa, you have the possibility to visit all the turistical atractions of Maramures .

The Mocania ( The Steam Train ) from Vaser Valley (one of the most impressive gorges of the Oriental Carpathians). The ride with Mocanita takes you through a forest, where no villages or roads exist, in the charming wild. The Iza Valley and the Mara Valley| (on NR18)

Religious Buildings: the wooden churches hold a special place in the golden fond of traditional creations of Romania, unique in the World through the shames and ornaments specific to romanian style: Bogdan Voda ( Sec. XVIII, with the painted interior), Surdesti (1724, with the tallest tower of the land :54 m); Moisei (1699); Budest (sec. XVII- XVIII), Cainesti (1663, with the painting from 1754) , Rozavlea (1700, painting from 1775), Botiza (1796); the church "Sfanta Treime" from Baia Mare, builded by the Jesuit monks between 1717-1720, in a baroque stile, The monastery Izvorul Negru near Moisei (1672).

The monastery of Barsana (1780) filled with the mystery of the Cross and the Revival of Jesus Christ in the His Church, the synthesis between piety and art, where the pray edifying of orthodox christian soul from Maramures at the crossroads of the millenniums, a hope for a holy blessed future, it's a saint place where nature unites with the Church and cosmic Liturgy.

The Merry Cemetery � Sapanta ( at 18 km from Sighetu Marmatiei ), unique in the world through its originality: the wooden sculpted and painted crosses by Stan Patras � transformed it into a real museum . The color of the crosses , the messages filled with humor make the essential poses of life eternal, and show the romanian spirit of non being afraid of death.

Cultural Buildings: The muzeum of Maramures, Sighetu Marmatiei, with ethnography sections and traditinal art( port pieces and architecture, pieces of household industry, the sciences of nature, the animals and plants of Maramures ) The Mineralogical Museum, Baia Mare.

Another touristic interes is given the the main mountain peaks accessible all around the year, the Vinderel Lake, the valleys of the river Repedea, and the huge forests or Alpine meadows .
Tomnatecu Peak, from the left slope of the valley Rpedea , is special because of the Alpine flora, from wich noticeable is the Daffodils Clearing (2nd in the country )
Rugasu peak, close the the Farca peak, noticeable through the wide Sub-Sub-Alpine view .

The Pietriceaua Peac, is special because of the existence of the caves and avens.

The Pop Ivan peak, situated at the border with Ukraine, spectacular through masivity and size of the Alpine and Sub-Alpine view.
The Valley of the river Repedea � with the aspect of a defile and the forest that surrounds, create a perfect place for hiking.
A touristic attraction of anthropogenic nature is the orthodox Ukrainian, constructed in 1901.
